spring neutrals

Nordstrom jacket (similar) | Marc by Marc Jacobs sunglasses | Nordstrom belt | Gap jeans | Michael Kors watch | J. Crew bracelet (similar) | Victoria's Secret nail polish in "String Bikini"

It's officially the first day of spring! While I wish it were warmer, it felt nice to wear a light jacket and not a coat or sweater. I kept the outfit pretty neutral, but with bubble gum pink nails and some heeled booties.

windowpane

J. Crew top (on sale!) | Marc Jacobs sunglasses (similar) | Italian leather jacket (similar) | Nordstrom arrow bracelet | J. Crew enamel link bracelet (similar) | GJG jeans | Tory Burch flats | Laurenly ring | Longchamp bag

Anything checkered/gingham/windowpane/whatever has always been my favorite pattern (stripes are a very close second). Bold, graphic windowpane patterns have caught my eye for a while and when I saw this black and white top from J. Crew, I knew I had to add it to my wardrobe. I added shiny and sleek accessories (leather jacket, Longchamp, and Tory Burch patent Revas) with a couple pops of pink to complete the look.

spring trend: mirrored sunglasses

As you've probably noticed, I've been LOVING my blue mirrored Ray-Bans (which can be seen in these outfits here, here, and here). To mark my one month-a-versary of having these sunglasses, I thought I'd do a quick post about the trend that's becoming more and more popular as we head deeper into spring.
Here are some styles to shop:

Personally, I absolutely love this trend right now. At first, I was a little wary - I hadn't seen anyone in person wearing sunglasses like these, and I knew I'd look crazy! But I went with it anyways and thought, "who cares!" The only downside is that when taking photos you can definitely see the photographer in the reflection, haha.

There are plenty of styles and colors to choose from, from aviators or wayfarers to shades of purple, green, blue...so many ways to add a fun pop of color to an outfit.

What do you think about the mirrored sunglasses trend?

tiger striped sunglasses; nautical striped shirt

Hello, man on the bike!
Sunglasses: Marc Jacobs Shirt, earrings, belt: Nordstrom: earringssimilar tank, similar belts Pants, bracelets: Forever 21 (similar pants)(similar bracelets) Shoes: Sperry Ring: Kate Spade (similar ring) Watch: Michael Kors

This is the first day I've worn pants! (Well, since school started). Today was sunny and windy, but since I've been feeling a little under the weather I decided to dress warmer. My striped tank is new, and I thought the orange would go well with these super comfortable olive pants. I love the combination of orange and green.

white on white

Tank: Free People Shorts: H&M Sunglasses: Marc Jacobs Shoes: Sperry Necklace: Subdued Firenze Watch: Michael Kors Bracelets: F21 Bandeau: Brandy Melville

Today it is 80 degrees and SUNNY! Sun is my favorite weather and I could not be happier right now. A few friends and I went to a late breakfast at an Italian restaurant (a few photos to come) and it was so great. Florentine eggs benedict, iced mochas, and good conversation. The restaurant we went to had garage doors that open up. The sunshine poured in on this nice day. What a great start to a Sunday/SUNday. Get it? Bad joke? Haha?

I decided to wear as summery of an outfit I could pull together in five minutes. I chose this lacy hi-low shirt from Free People. The back of the tank has cool wooden beads sewn onto it. Simple white denim shorts and gold accessories finished off the outfit. I wore a black bandeau because the tank is a little baggy. Now I'm going head out and spend the rest of the day outside!

Here's the back of the shirt - you can kind of see the wooden beaded detail! This photo was taken on Elba Island in Italy...ahh the days. :)

checkers

My favorite pattern is checkers. I like checkered bedding, notebooks, and especially clothes! It is a classic print that is reincarted every season. I enjoy the pattern year-round, but love seeing the pattern more often in the spring.

You can never go wrong with a traditional, checkered button-down! A button-down in blue gingham has been on my shopping list for a while now, but other colors like green and light pink other good options.

Branching out from button-downs is nice too! I love this Marc Jacobs skirt - perfect for work or dressing up - and this retro swimsuit is adorable.
