kate spade surprise sale!

Kate Spade is having a surprise sale right now, and plenty of adorable items are majorly marked down. If it weren't for international shipping costs, I'd for sure pick up a few things - seriously, though, you can't beat the price for these pretty pairs of earrings.
Put your hair in a ponytail so these colorful beauties steal the spotlight!

You can never have too much pink.

Jade green small drop earrings are great to add subtle color for fall and winter.

A nice way to add a metallic touch that is anything but boring.

Ah, the pretty earrings....the gorgeous shoes....all the clothes and bags that are on sale....you can never go wrong with Kate Spade!

a couple of quotes (& a poem, & glitter)

While I was scrolling through my recent posts on Tumblr yesterday for Tumblr Saturday #74, I came across so many great quotes that I wanted to make a whole new post for them.

tumblr saturday #74

Happy weekend! Here are a few of my faves floating around Tumblr this week.

Loving the crazy prints! This is something I'd never think of putting together, since the patterns and colors are all so different, yet in this photo it looks like the pieces were meant for each other.

I want this flag sweater.... #america

Great combo of emerald green, leopard, and of course, bows!
great stack of bracelets
Perfect summer stack. Knowing me, I'd still wear this year-round.... :)
pink, green, monograms, and a dog. adorable photo!
Pink and green norts, pink monogrammed hat, and an adorable dog (in a basket!) Could this photo be overwhelmed any more with cuteness?!

friday's fancies - halloween style

This week's Friday's Fancies theme with Long Distance Loving is all about Halloween! Last year, I was a mermaid for Halloween and wore a similar outfit to my creation below. Since I brought the same costume to Italy with me (not getting creative this year by making a new one...) I wanted to repost my FF from last year! A mermaid costume was super simple to find pieces for.

I lucked out when I went to a boutique in Spokane and found a bandeau and green high-low skirt in late October. I would've loved to wear a sparkly one like I originally envisioned, but bright blue works too! My friend went as Posh Spice.
I wore brown wedges with colorful beads to complete the look. Since I didn't bring those shoes with me, I'll just wear my starfish Capri sandals instead. :)

What are you dressing up as this Halloween? Do you buy a pre-made costume, put pieces together to make one like I did, or craft your own?

chocolate festival in perugia, italy

Last weekend we had a day trip to Perugia for the annual Eurochocolate Festival. It was a gorgeous, warm day and the city of Perugia was beautiful. After eating a decent amount of chocolate, when I got home I went straight to the kitchen and started eating lettuce out of the bag. I needed nutrients, okay?!

I also updated my about page; go check it out! I was in desperate need of an update. Now I explain what Sunny Sweetheart is, the name behind the blog, why I started this blog, and more.

Thanks for stopping by :)

Happy weekend! Here are a few of my faves floating around Tumblr this week.
Yes! :)
An adorable little outfit! I'd wear that if it came in my size, haha
Happy October! Seeing so many instagrams of friends back home at the pumpkin patch
LOVE these pink Nikes. I have the same in purple, but now I have my eye on this color...
HAHA I've never done chatroulette but this photo cracks me up.
Beautiful earrings with nails to match!

friday's fancies - travel chic

This week's Friday's Fancies theme with Long Distance Loving is travel chic. I love the mixed materials on the J. Crew top (the sleeves are leather!) and the Lilly Pulitzer travel pants are supposed to be perfectly comfortable for travel. Add some boots, a cozy scarf, and a sleek cinnamon red MK bag and you're good to go!

navy & grey

Ray-Ban sunglasses | J. Crew shirt (similar) | J. Crew skirt (similar from Factory) | Report flats | Nordstrom belt (similar) | Louis Vuitton bag

Loving navy today, as usual, with my striped tee and military-inspired jacket. My hair looks two colors in the top photo haha, got to love taking photos outside. :)

chambray in firenze

H&M top | Nordstrom skirt (similar longer designer version) | J. Crew bracelets (similar here and here) | Tory Burch sandals | Swank necklace | Chanel sunglasses

I have a new camera! It turns out that my main lens was okay and just my camera body was broken. I upgraded from the Nikon D3100 to the D3200 (the new version of the same camera) and kept my lens. Now I'm back in business and hope to be doing more outfit posts! This one comes from Florence on the Arno River. It was a gorgeous day and even more beautiful at dusk, when we shot these photos. I love the way a casual chambray top goes with this black cupcake skirt, which I wore from day, then out to dinner, and then out at night.

Thanks for stopping by!

a florentine weekend

I stayed in Florence this weekend and took a trip up to Piazzale Michaelangelo, which has the best view of Florence. I hadn't been up there since I was a student two years ago, so it was nice to take in the magical view once again.
One thing not so magical, however, are the tiger mosquitoes in Florence. They are enormous compared to regular mosquitoes (see the photo below) and just seem to love leaving bites on my skin in particular. Can't wait for bug season to be over!
Three guys and three girls in one apartment...recipe for a mess! A couple of us cleaned this weekend, however, when the boys get back...it might not be so clean anymore. Which is I why I documented the clean state of the apartment with a photo, because it may not look like this for a while...

floral + a statement necklace

Forever 21 shirt | Swank necklace | Hudson jeans | Corso Como boots | Michael Kors watch

Please mind the selfies and the dirty mirror (looks like we need to clean our apartment!) We've had a busy week but still all good fun. What still isn't fun, however, is that my camera refuses to work :(

It is juuuust starting to get chilly in Florence, and while I probably could've worn shorts today, I've been rocking the skinny jeans and leggings all weekend. Of course, once it hit September, the oh-so-fashionable Italians were bundled up in scarves, fall sweaters, and boots. Me being me (summer-and-warm-weather-obsessed), I wore my summer favorites well into October. :)

I'm loving this floral F21 top I found this summer and saved it for fall due to the navy base and high-low hem. The neutral colored statement necklace added a little "something extra" so the outfit. I finished it off with classic riding boots and my signature MK watch.

Here's to finally welcoming fall fashion!
