bright, electric stripes

Dress Red Dress Boutique - sold out, but I'm loving this one too Belt Nordstrom Shoes GUESS (similar) Necklace Max & Chloe Sunglasses Chanel (similar)

You can't really see the earrings in the photo above so I added this photo below - I've worn these earrings almost every day since I got them! Finding a Bendels in Las Vegas was wonderful :) [Get the earrings here!]
Jenn and I got our nails done and then went to lunch before saying goodbye! It was a great spring break and always fun to see the bestie.

on the strip

Skirt Lilly Pulitzer (an online outlet has the print) Tank Brandy Melville Bandeau Brandy Melville Sunglasses Chanel Bag Juicy Couture Sandals gift from my mom (similar pair) Ring Kate Spade Necklace Swank Boutique

I am currently at the airport, about to leave lovely Las Vegas. I had an amazing weekend filled with a ton of fun and a whole lot of Gonzaga basketball. Walking around on the strip was really cool - the hotel buildings are so extravagant. It reminds me of a grown-up Disneyland! Haha. The weather was beautiful and allowed for sandals and skirts. I don't want to go back to cold Spokane when spring break is over. :(

Tomorrow I will be swapping blogs for the day - be sure to check back for a fab guest post on color combos for spring!

friday's fancies - outfit crush

It is no secret that I absolutely love spring and summer fashion. I also love pretty much anything that Gossip Girl's Blair Waldorf has worn, especially her Hamptons outfits in Season 2. When I saw that this week's Friday's Fancies theme with long distance loving was Outfit Crush, I couldn't resist using Blair's summer style as inspiration! From Milly and Lilly P to Prada and Chanel, take a look at the mint and pink outfit I recreated plus some extra inspiration below.

The snow outside already has me dreaming of warmer days, and this post definitely makes me want to leap ahead to spring break!

downtown

Shirt: Nordstrom Jeans: GJG Denim Shoes: Steve Madden Bag, belt: American Eagle Watch: Michael Kors

I'm wearing these jeans AGAIN! Even though they are pink, the color is so versatile and I am able to put together many different outfits with this pair. I played off the pink color with the beads on my shoes, and wore the striped shirt to add a pattern. I tucked the shirt in in just the front to show the belt, and finished the look off with more neutral accessories.

"digital" florals

Shorts: Nasty Gal Tank, bracelets, earrings: Nordstrom Sandals: my mom's closet Sunglasses: American Eagle

It was pretty warm again today, so I pulled out these floral shorts again - this time without the tights and boots! I love warm weather. "Digital" florals have been on the fashion-radar for a some time now and the trend has exploded this spring.

It has taken me a little while to warm up to the digital floral trend, seeing as some patterns remind me of the curtains from my old house in the '90s. They're not as bad as I originally thought, though. I have found some great pieces that are updated and more modern! Below are a few digital floral items to try out if you like the trend. (I think the skirt is gorgeous!)

Do you like the digital florals trend? Is it a trend to stay, or should it have stayed in the past all along? Would you wear any of the pieces above? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

spring has sprung! sparkles and shorts

Sunglasses: Marc Jacobs Shirt: H&M Shorts: Rock & Republic Belt, shoes: American Eagle Watch: Michael Kors Bracelets: F21 Ring (left hand/right side of photo): Nordstrom Ring (right hand/left side of photo): a market in Italy

The weather is warming up so I just had to wear shorts! No tights, no leggings, no scarves, coats, or gloves. Spring has sprung, and I really hope it stays this way.

For my spring outfit, I decided to tuck in this baggy shirt into denim shorts and belt it. Since the shirt has a lot of sparkle, this tones it down a little and pulls everything together.

The Marc Jacobs sunglasses are one of my favorite pairs! I like retro-inspired-wayfarer-ish style and the rims along the top have a subtle, olive tiger print.

floral cardigan & bow clip

Sweater, skinnies: Nordstrom  Tank: James Perse Watch: Michael Kors Bow clip, bracelets: F21 Ankle wedges: Tory Burch

Super fast post today, because I'm about to head off to teach my very first Zumba class! (I'm subbing for another instructor who's out today!) I'm so excited, but I wanted to post a photo of my outfit before I headed out!

Today I wore this floral cardigan that my mom gave me a while back - since it's a little big, I push up the sleeves so they aren't baggy on my arms. I love the print though! I wore a pink - but different - cadigan two days in a row! [Fun fact: I have 4 different pink cardigans.] So springy and fun. I played up the girly-factor with this cute bow clip from Forever 21. I finished the outfit with jeans, a basic tank, and wedge boots.

seeing the sun

Sunglasses, hoodie: H&M Shorts: Rock & Republic Bracelets: ASOS Shoes: Sperry

This outfit isn't particularly interesting, but I was so excited to be wearing shorts that I had to post it! Being in  Denver, the altitude makes the sun feel a little warmer. I spent a very relaxing morning laying out and reading The Hunger Games book 2 (anyone else obsessed with the series?). I might look a little out of place wearing shorts in March, but it is currently snowing in Spokane so I need to get my fix before I go back to school. I restrained myself from wearing flip flops and wore my Sperrys to not look too out of place.

Also, I got this jacket at H&M, but I just realized it looks like an American Apparel knockoff. Oops? Haha. Whatever, I like the color. It goes nicely with the tribal bracelets! It is a perfect example of a hoodie I'd throw on in the summer when it gets chilly at night. I can not WAIT for summer weather! Who's with me on that one?!
