chambray in firenze

H&M top | Nordstrom skirt (similar longer designer version) | J. Crew bracelets (similar here and here) | Tory Burch sandals | Swank necklace | Chanel sunglasses

I have a new camera! It turns out that my main lens was okay and just my camera body was broken. I upgraded from the Nikon D3100 to the D3200 (the new version of the same camera) and kept my lens. Now I'm back in business and hope to be doing more outfit posts! This one comes from Florence on the Arno River. It was a gorgeous day and even more beautiful at dusk, when we shot these photos. I love the way a casual chambray top goes with this black cupcake skirt, which I wore from day, then out to dinner, and then out at night.

Thanks for stopping by!

floral + a statement necklace

Forever 21 shirt | Swank necklace | Hudson jeans | Corso Como boots | Michael Kors watch

Please mind the selfies and the dirty mirror (looks like we need to clean our apartment!) We've had a busy week but still all good fun. What still isn't fun, however, is that my camera refuses to work :(

It is juuuust starting to get chilly in Florence, and while I probably could've worn shorts today, I've been rocking the skinny jeans and leggings all weekend. Of course, once it hit September, the oh-so-fashionable Italians were bundled up in scarves, fall sweaters, and boots. Me being me (summer-and-warm-weather-obsessed), I wore my summer favorites well into October. :)

I'm loving this floral F21 top I found this summer and saved it for fall due to the navy base and high-low hem. The neutral colored statement necklace added a little "something extra" so the outfit. I finished it off with classic riding boots and my signature MK watch.

Here's to finally welcoming fall fashion!

pink & green

Vineyard Vines top (can't find online, however, this is a matching skirt) | J. Crew shorts | Aldo sandals | Ray-Ban sunglasses | Michael Kors watch | Swank bracelets, silver | Forever 21 bracelet, green (old) | Longchamp bag

This is my last short visit to New York, and I only thought it fitting to photograph an outfit as colorful as the bright city lights. Since summer is my favorite season, I took to my favorite bright color pairing - pink and green - with my blue mirrored Ray-Bans, casual sandals, and a bright green bangle. You can never go wrong with pink and green, or with stripes - I'm also loving this Lilly dress that incorporates pink and green color blocking. (Surprise, surprise, more stripes! Haha. But really. My last three shopping trips have all included at least two striped pieces. This may begin to be an issue...)

I can't believe later this week I will leave New York and return to Seattle. This summer job has flown by! Leaving my "homes away from home" in DC and NY will be a little sad, but my next venture will begin in a few weeks. I'm excited to announce to you all what's next for me! (Hint: it's really exciting, and will be so fun to blog about).

dress it up/dress it down

J. Crew top (currently on sale) | Rock & Republic shorts (similar) | Michael Kors watch | Swank bracelets | Longchamp bag

So I tried to get a full length shot of this outfit, but it was a ponytail day and I looked like a boy in every photo. Haha! What I do love about such a sparkly top, however, is that it is surprisingly versatile. This top can be worn with a skirt or a nice pair of pants (already have an outfit planned for this week) or with casual shorts, like how I wore it this weekend. Not only can a sparkly top such as this one be dressed up or down in the summer, any dose of sparkle can be factored in year-round with a huge variety of outfits. Is planning ahead to my New Year's party outfit too soon? ;)

a spring outfit

J. Crew shirt | Swank Boutique pink necklace | Max & Chloe monogram necklace | Sanctuary jeans | Sperry boat shoes (they brought back the original pink!) | Kate Spade bag (similar) | Kate Spade ring | Nordstrom belt (similar) | Nordstrom sunglasses

Today we went out near the small lake on campus to take photos in the grass! I love a good blue sky/bright green grass combo for photos. The geese were there today, and luckily didn't start chasing me (yeah, that happened sophomore year....)

I pulled out my favorite pair of Sperry boat shoes, which I've had since I was 13 years old. They've stood the test of time and are still in fantastic shape! They definitely look "worn." The pink Sperrys match my necklace perfectly, and with the necklace's gold accents, I added some gold jewelry and a bag. It was fun to add pink (my favorite) and gold to the neutral blue and white of the shirt and jeans.

After having a TON of fun in Las Vegas, (see this outfit post, and this post or this post for pics!) I went to Denver for the second leg of the trip to visit my best friend Jenn. I went to Denver for my Spring Breaks last year and the year before as well! It was nice to catch up and slow down from the previous weekend.  We went up to Daniel's Park near Denver and took photos by the gorgeous view.

AND, Jenn went dark with her hair! Take a look:

on the strip

Skirt Lilly Pulitzer (an online outlet has the print) Tank Brandy Melville Bandeau Brandy Melville Sunglasses Chanel Bag Juicy Couture Sandals gift from my mom (similar pair) Ring Kate Spade Necklace Swank Boutique

I am currently at the airport, about to leave lovely Las Vegas. I had an amazing weekend filled with a ton of fun and a whole lot of Gonzaga basketball. Walking around on the strip was really cool - the hotel buildings are so extravagant. It reminds me of a grown-up Disneyland! Haha. The weather was beautiful and allowed for sandals and skirts. I don't want to go back to cold Spokane when spring break is over. :(

Tomorrow I will be swapping blogs for the day - be sure to check back for a fab guest post on color combos for spring!

We finally saw the sun for the first time in at least a week! There was no excuse to not go outside and take photos. (Don't worry, I was wearing a coat in the sunny-yet-still-36-degrees weather.) However, it was SO windy! I could not get my hair to cooperate for even one photo....

playful dress

Dress: Mink Pink Shoes: New Look (London) Double ring: Swank

One thing I love about dresses is that they are a whole outfit in one. Other than a jacket (if you need one), shoes, and accessories, the outfit is already complete! Dresses are great for getting ready fast. Today, I had internship stuff and then went out with my friends after. I only had a few minutes to get ready, so I threw this on! The flat espidrilles I got in London are so comfortable and make me feel playful in this outfit. Plus, the skirt is twirly. Is that even a word? Well, it is now.
Twirly.

pastel, x3

Shirt: Michael Stars Jeans: GJG Denim Shoes: Report Bow hair accessory, knuckle ring: F21 Double ring: Swank Sunglasses: H&M Bracelets: Tiffany & Co.

I am wearing pastels in three different ways today: a baggy, lavender Michael Stars t-shirt, ballet pink skinny jeans, and "Tiffany blue" nail polish. I even wore my Tiffany bracelets to go with the nail polish today :)

This shirt is so comfortable, and the color is very subtle. I really like it, except I think the sleeves could be a little shorter or less baggy. I like combining the subtle shirt with the bright, pastel jeans. It is a good outfit to wear for studying, which I've been doing all day. I'm taking a quick break to post this, then back to research and reading and a bunch of other stuff I'd rather not be doing on a sunny day. Finals are coming up and I feel like everything else is on the back burner, including blogging. I'm sorry I haven't been posting every day! School is my first priority and as much as I love to post daily, I haven't had the time. Don't worry, though. I'll be back in full swing soon!

Also - is it just me, or does my hair look really short today?!

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

haiii

Dress: Free People Jacket: Vivid Collection Flats: Report Double ring: Swank Boutique Knuckle Ring: F21

Do you know anyone who writes "hai" instead of "hi" in a text/email/whatever? I think I've received texts with haiii, but don't think I've ever written it. For some reason, though, I felt like writing it for the post title today.

Well, that was a random tangent.

Today I wore this floral-printed Free People dress with silver flats and a navy military-style jacket. I wore the silver flats and rings to play off of the jacket's buttons and the subtle grey background on the dress print. I thought about adding leggings or tights, realized I didn't have any that matched, and then left for class with bare legs. But guess what?! It wasn't that cold! Yes, a little chilly, but appropriate dress-without-tights weather. Hooray! Spring is on its way!
