friday's fancies - summer ready!

This week's Friday's Fancies theme with Long Distance Loving is Summer Ready. While it's officially the first day of summer (woohoo!) but I've been incorporating summer staples into my wardrobe all spring! For this week's outfit I paired a lovely pink striped top I recently splurged on (it was the bow - I couldn't resist!) with yellow shorts and neutral accessories. It's so brights-on-brights and stripes-on-stripes.

spring trend: mirrored sunglasses

As you've probably noticed, I've been LOVING my blue mirrored Ray-Bans (which can be seen in these outfits here, here, and here). To mark my one month-a-versary of having these sunglasses, I thought I'd do a quick post about the trend that's becoming more and more popular as we head deeper into spring.

Personally, I absolutely love this trend right now. At first, I was a little wary - I hadn't seen anyone in person wearing sunglasses like these, and I knew I'd look crazy! But I went with it anyways and thought, "who cares!" The only downside is that when taking photos you can definitely see the photographer in the reflection, haha.

There are plenty of styles and colors to choose from, from aviators or wayfarers to shades of purple, green, blue...so many ways to add a fun pop of color to an outfit.

It's so sunny today! I got to take my bright green chino shorts out of the drawers for the first time in a long time. The warm weather makes me want to do anything but be inside, but unfortunately I have a final to study for this afternoon. Maybe I'll study outside on the grass :) it's crazy to think that tomorrow I have my last actual class as a college student! And only two more finals and my thesis paper. So, so, so weird letting that sink in.

I also love the color combo today. Orange and green have been a favorite color of mine since I saw Blair wearing the orange-green outfit on Gossip Girl (beginning-ish of season 1, where Blair and Nate break up, I can't find a photo of that outfit online). I like to put the colors together if I get a chance!

It's been a while since I've done a .gif outfit post! Hope you like the look today, I wore my Lilly Pulizer skirt (one of my favorite spring skirts) in the Wild Confetti print and hinted at the blue-green color in the skirt with my tank. It was windy and chilly so I had to throw on my cardigan, but that didn't stop me from keeping the outfit totally spring! I pulled out my white flat espadrilles for the first time this season and I'm so excited because they go with almost anything. Yay for spring clothes!

friday's fancies - nice + neon

This week's Friday's Fancies theme with long distance loving is nice + neon. I'm loving neon, and my "travel bug" has been acting up lately - these past few days I've been dreaming about the French Riviera and how badly I want to visit! Nice is a beach city on the Mediterranean Sea. I thought there could be no more perfect way to use this week's FF theme with a neon outfit inspired by Nice, France.

Wow! What a day. I can't believe I'm just getting around to blogging, and it's almost midnight! Tomorrow morning I need to get up SO early - 4am - to get in line for Vegas basketball tickets at 4:30. I'm so excited to see Gonzaga in the WCC Vegas tournament, but I'm definitely not excited about my 4am wake-up call. I also have my first midterm tomorrow in marketing - wish me luck! I hear the tests are pretty tough for this particular class...maybe I'll study tomorrow in line while half asleep. :P I think that'll work out well.

Also - what do you think about the .GIF outfit posts? Yay or Nay? I'm leaning toward YAY because I think they're fun, but I'd love your feedback since it's something new I've been trying out!

friday's fancies - outfit crush

It is no secret that I absolutely love spring and summer fashion. I also love pretty much anything that Gossip Girl's Blair Waldorf has worn, especially her Hamptons outfits in Season 2. When I saw that this week's Friday's Fancies theme with long distance loving was Outfit Crush, I couldn't resist using Blair's summer style as inspiration! From Milly and Lilly P to Prada and Chanel, take a look at the mint and pink outfit I recreated plus some extra inspiration below.

statement necklaces

Statement necklaces have been on the fashion radar for a few seasons now and I think it's safe to say the trend is still going strong. Whether it is a collar necklace or the popular bubble necklace, necklaces of all colors, materials, shapes, and sizes are everywhere. I've been on the fence about getting a bubble necklace, but love the purple Bauble Bar one above. However, a chunky pearl necklace like the J. Crew one would go well with my outfits..... decisions, decisions! Which one is your fave??

Happy Thursday-almost-weekend-day!

Short post because I am about to leave to start horseback riding classes. I'm so excited :) I haven't taken riding lessons since I was 7 years old so this will be interesting. And (I hope) fun!

Lacoste Headbands

I used to love Lacoste several years back; I would wear the polos to golf and had white sneakers I would wear in the summertime. As the years went on, I stopped wearing the brand as often but now that I saw they are having a semi-annual sale with up to 50% off, I might pick up a piece or two!

The Pique Headband is something that has been on my wish list for a long time. It comes in a large variety of colors at only $12 each! Since winter can get so dull, one of these headbands would be a nice way to brighten up a look!

can't quite let go of summer

Of course I cut my shoes off in the photo ... again. Haha. I need to fix that. I love bright colors and cannot seem to quite let go of summer, so therefore I am wearing this colorful tribal print tank with the pink cardigan. Wearing jeans makes it "fall" right? At least I'm not wearing shorts and flip flops (I wish...)
