blue ray-bans!

Wellllll, you can see my friend Lauren (friend and today's photographer) in the reflection, haha.

Ray-Ban sunglasses | Free People dress (similar) | Martin + Osa cardigan (similar) | Report flats (similar) | Nordstrom bracelets (similar) | Entourage earrings

I am so loving my new blue mirrored aviators. I went to Nordstrom 4 times to look at them before actually making the purchase! They have already becoming a favorite in my accessory collection, even if they are a little crazy. I don't care, I love them anyway! It took my a while to admit that because they are a newer trend and a little "out there" ... also, my ex-boyfriend from high school used to wear mirrored aviators and I thought he looked like the biggest tool. Haha. So....

I'm also wearing the earrings from Leslie that came in my blog swap gift!! Love the subtle addition of orange next to the blue.

friday's fancies - hit the slopes

This week's Friday's Fancies theme with long distance loving is Hit the Slopes ("your best apres-ski outfit!") I've never skied ... being a dancer, skiing is high injury risk - I've even had to sign dance team contracts saying I wouldn't ski. However, sometimes I go with a group of people to my friend's cabin up in the mountains. (See this post and this post!) While only some of us ski, the non-skiers hang out and relax. Here's an outfit I would wear if I had these pieces in my wardrobe:

frills n' bows

Sweater Madewell Shirt H&M (old) Jeans Nordstrom Bracelets Nordstrom (similar) Flats Tory Burch Nail Polish OPI "No Room For The Blues" Necklace Muses & Rebels

My SLR camera battery died today so I took my photos with my phone and a mirror. Haha. The lighting makes my tank look white but it's actually light pink! I kept the look casual today as I was Christmas shopping and walking in the city.

fair isle tank with black mini

Tank Nordstrom (similar sweater) Skirt Free People (similar) Tights F21 Cardigan old, have had it since 8th grade! Similar one here Flats Tory Burch Ring Nordstrom (similar) Watch Michael Kors

My first indoor outfit post in a while! It's been dark and rainy all day. :(

Even though Thanksgiving is tomorrow, I am already getting excited for Christmas. Christmas decorations are everywhere and my family has had Christmas music playing all day. I got excited and pulled out my reindeer fair isle printed tank.

Kind of like Seth from The OC Chrismukkuh episode (just in a more fashionable way).

Who am I kidding! Seth Cohen can always rock a Chrismukkuh sweater.

a cozy study outfit

Close-up of the headband
Headband Nordstrom Sweater Aritzia (old) Tank Nordstrom-old (similar) Leggings lululemon Knee Socks J. Crew Boots Ralph Lauren/DSW

I wore this outfit to the library yesterday for a marathon study session. I was there for more than four hours and totally forgot to bring snacks or a lunch! I was so hungry afterward, haha. Since I knew I'd be doing homework for a while, I wanted to wear something that was cozy but still put-together. The leggings, baggy tank, and boyfriend sweater are all very comfortable, and the knee socks peeking out from the boots added warmth. I could've gone the UGG boot route, but instead I chose to wear my new fave leather riding boots. They're just as comfortable!

And I couldn't resist adding sparkle with my headband. ;)

blue floral dress & black

Dress: Nordstrom Sweater: Macy's Earrings, belt, bracelets: F21 Watch: Michael Kors

It is warm today!!!!!!! (Notice the amount of exclamation points. I am very happy.) I am even writing this post outside, on a bench on campus. If only I had the time to take the photo outside...

I wore a blue floral dress that shows its sheerness at the bottom and added big green earrings to touch on the hint of green in the floral print. I kept the outfit simple and not overdone but finishing it off with basic black accessories: a cardigan, a belt to cinch in my waist, and black patent Tory Burch flats (not pictured).

working girl

Dress: Nordstrom Cardigan: J. Crew Tights, bracelets: F21 Watch: Michael Kors Heels: Steve Madden

Today I met with the people who I will be working with for my internship this summer! It was exciting to learn what I will be helping out with. I wore a semi-dressed up outfit, and whipped out my favorite pair of heels. I softened all of the black and white with a punchy pink cardigan and accessories. Apparently, since I'll be working with/at/near summer camps, I don't need to dress up every day. "Camp" clothes are all I really need to wear, except for a few events. So while I don't get an excuse to go shopping for business-casual clothes, I get to wear my favorite comfy shorts and sandals. Not a bad tradeoff for the summer.

at the coffee shop

Sweater: Anthropologie Tank: Nordstrom Jeans: Joe's Headband: F21 Flats: Report

I am currently at this little coffee shop (actually, it's quite big for a coffee shop) about to do homework. But I'm blogging first. Because that's more fun. :)

I realized that I have three midterms, a paper, and a project all due in the same week, so I'm trying to get ahead with my homework for the 3-day weekend. (Thank you, President's Day holiday!)

Enjoy your Saturday,

very pose-y today

Cardigan: Aritzia Blue tank, headband, heels: F21 Jeans, white tank: Nordstrom Necklace: H&M Bracelets and ring: Tiffany & Co.

Tonight I am going out to dinner with some friends to try Indian food for the first time! For some reason, it is one cuisine I have never tried. I hear it is great though - I'm just a little nervous about the spiciness! After dinner, we're going to head downtown to see GOP candidate Ron Paul speak. I'm excited to see one of the presidential candidates.

Happy Friday!

typical thursday

Cardigan: Macy's Tank: Nordstrom Necklace, Bracelets, Jeans: F21 Watch: Michael Kors Boots: Chinese Laundry

Despite what it looks like in the photo, this was actually a good hair day! Haha. As per usual, I only had a minute or two to snap a photo of my outfit today. I stuck with these boots two days in a row and stayed pretty casual. Then I added this necklace to mirror the colors in the tank. I also wore an ivory coat with big buttons over it when I went outside. Can't believe it's coat season already! It just got COLD in Spokane, folks.

Today marks the beginning of Halloweekend! This year I have costumes for Minnie Mouse and Spider-Girl. I haven't figured out my other costumes yet, but I might reuse my Twitter Bird ensemble from last year. I'm not totally sure yet. With Halloween on a Monday, it seems like people are going to celebrate properly 5 nights in a row. I'll see what I end up doing.

Does anyone else feel like college kids celebrate Halloween way more than actual kids?! (Not that I'm complaining!)

cozy cozy and a spider bite

Cardigan: Aritzia Grey tank: Target Pink tank: Nordstrom Black bracelets: F21 Shoes: Sperry Leggings: H&M Watch: Michael Kors

Make fun of the MySpace-style mirror pic all you want, ladies and gents! I wasn't wearing a lot of makeup and have a spider bite on my face (conveniently covered up with concealer) soooo didn't feel like doing the typical outfit photo today. I think not really editing this photo shows the colors and lighting a lot better than yesterday's outfit photo, too.

Anyone notice the tank and shoes from my personal vintage collection? I really do wear them often! I'm also wearing the (faux) diamond studs, but you can't see them. This outfit is so cozy and perfect for visiting the doctor (cough cough spider bite), going to classes, and running around all day.

Tomorrow it is the beginning of family weekend and my parents are coming up to school to visit me! I'm excited. Dance Team is also performing for the first time this year at a basketball game. I have a feeling it's going to be a great weekend. This exact weekend is always the time when the trees change color and a TON of leaves fall.

Have a good weekend!
