Just quickly posting a few photos from strolling around M Street earlier this week. M Street is definitely my favorite shopping spot in the DC area. Now it's back to work - I've been working some pretty long days but love what I do, so it's all good. I will say that I am very excited to get some sleep tonight!

friday's fancies - hit the slopes

This week's Friday's Fancies theme with long distance loving is Hit the Slopes ("your best apres-ski outfit!") I've never skied ... being a dancer, skiing is high injury risk - I've even had to sign dance team contracts saying I wouldn't ski. However, sometimes I go with a group of people to my friend's cabin up in the mountains. (See this post and this post!) While only some of us ski, the non-skiers hang out and relax. Here's an outfit I would wear if I had these pieces in my wardrobe:

Quick outfit post today - wanted to do a closeup of the earrings! I made a striped yellow top that's more suited for summer work for winter by pairing it with a scarf, a navy parka, and brown wax-coated skinnies. It's crazy to think this is my last outfit post of 2012!

It's finals week. It snowed today. That is all.

I shot today's outfit photos in front of the music mansion on campus. The music mansion is gorgeous on the inside and out! Ashli (my photographer today!) suggested it. :)

Remember this post where I wrote about how much I fell in love with the peplum dress from H&M, but they didn't have it in my size?

I went back to H&M a couple weeks later. And it was still in stock. And they had my size. I did a happy dance in the store and bought it. YAY :D

I wore it today to class and will probably wear it this Friday for a networking event, and Monday for a group presentation. Yes, I will re-wear it in the same week (maybe switch up some accessories or add tights) so to those of you that know me in real life, well, you'll be seeing this dress again soon. Haha!

a light snow at night

just a tad too blurry! :/

The first snow of the season came shortly after daylight savings. I wanted to do an outfit post, but there was barely any light! (And it was only 4:30pm!) It was the first time I've taken night photos with this camera, and quite a few came out blurry (like the full-length one in the middle). I'm excited I got it to work, though! I kept my aperture wide and shutter speed at 1 second. I'm excited that I know how to work light settings at night - this will come in handy during Christmas time and taking pictures of all the lights!
