details lately...

Haven't had much of a chance to do my usual outfit posts lately, being so busy taking photos of the students on our trips! My Nikon is also currently broken...so sad! Hoping to get it fixed ASAP. In the meantime, I'll be using my phone.

Outfit details from lately:
Dixie glitter sweatershirt | Nordstrom hat (similar here and here)

My latest instagram
Stella & Dot scarf | Nordstrom sunglasses | Nike shoes (similar here, with a touch of pink!)

A little shopping from Croatia...
From the market, these look like they could be inspired by J. Crew or Kate Spade, don't you think?
Loafers and sandals, also from the market.
And then I got these Nike high tops! I always said sneakers were just for the gym, until I moved to Europe...where literally everyone wears them. There is so much great style to be inspired by here, and I just had to snag a pair.

custom sandals from capri

Two weekends ago when I was in the Amalfi Coast, I was lucky enough to snag a pair of custom made sandals from Capri! If you're headed to Amalfi, I highly recommend it. I've seen plenty of custom sandal shops in Capri as well as a few in Positano. You choose your strap color and the jewels you want on the strap as well as the strap design. Then they make it right in front of you!
My sandals, on the left :)
When I studied abroad two years ago, I went to Capri a week before I went back home. My budget only allowed for either a pair of custom sandals or a leather jacket - I chose the leather jacket last time, so this time around I made sure to go straight for the sandals! What I didn't know last time was that you can haggle the price. I got a 100+ euro pair for 75 euro. Better than nothing!

I know it's pretty much "fall," but since it's still warm, I'm getting as much use out of these sandals as I can get before I pack 'em away till spring. :)

current favorites: printed skirts

I'm loving printed skirts these days, and there are so many on the market to choose from. With either a solid or printed top, there are plenty of mix-and-match options, making multiple outfits out of one skirt. Here are my current favorite printed skirts for both day and night:

My top pick of all of these has to be the red, white, and blue skirt by Milly (top right). I can't resist a red and blue combination!

The tribal printed sequin mini (second from the left, bottom row) was also worn by Desiree on this season of The Bachelorette. When I was watching that episode all I could think of was how cute that skirt was!

Side note -- who can't wait for the season finale of The Bachelorette?!

As for shoe pairings for the skirts, I could see strappy sandals working well for the picks for day. I like this pair and this pair for all three of them. A pair of Jack Rogers sandals would also look lovely with the Milly skirt. For the night skirt picks, this pair of neutral, ankle strap heels would look fabulous.

friday's fancies - serious sunnies

This week's Friday's Fancies theme with Long Distance Loving is Serious Sunnies. I totally adore the subtle butterfly shaped sunglasses. This week's outfit is a little more bohemian than I'd usually wear, I just love the bright red maxi!

friday's fancies - memorial day weekend

This week's Friday's Fancies theme with Long Distance Loving is Memorial Day Weekend. I featured many true-blue pieces in this all-American outfit, with red and neutral accents. And I'm loving those glam Ray-Ban sunnies! I so wish I could wear something like this to kick off summer this weekend, but unfortunately, it will be raining in Seattle (what else is new?) I'll have to save it for sunnier days!

friday's fancies - may flowers

This week's Friday's Fancies theme with long distance loving is may flowers. The floral bustier on the dress is oh-so-adorable and I cannot get over the little bows on the Kate Spade sunglasses!!

turquoise on turquoise on turquoise

Shirt: Free People (similar) Shorts: Paige Denim (similar)Sandals: Dolce Vita (similar) Sunglasses: Chanel Earrings: New Look (London) Watch: Michael Kors (newer version) Bracelets: Forever 21

Turquoise high-low shirt. Turquoise Sandals. Turquoise toenails.
It's been a turquoise kind of day.

Fall seems to be heading our way sooner. It's really chilly in the shade but hot in the sun. I've seen quite the mix of outfits these past couple of days - some people are still wearing shorts and sandals (like me) and others are in tights, boots, scarves, and jackets.

When it's 75 degrees and sunny, it's a little cooler than summer...but I know frigid winter temps will be here sooner than I know it. So I'm easing into the fall transition with my long sleeves and sandals.

black one shoulder dress

Dress: New Look London (similar) Sunglasses: Chanel Sandals: Dolce Vita (similar) Bracelets: Forever 21 Watch: Michael Kors

This is my first time blogging from my new laptop! The charger for my old one broke so I was able to just swap the old one for the new one (thank you, insurance). I haven't blogged in over a week and have had minimal access to a computer for just as long. I recently went to a UCA/UDA college spirit camp (so fun) and then celebrated an early birthday with my parents. Now I'm back at school ready to kick off my senior year!

what to wear on 4th of july

Due to a request to do a Fourth of July themed post, I decided to create some outfits inspired by the holiday! These would be great for many festivities surrounding the fourth!

I think of a nice evening on a boat when I see this outfit! I love this bright blue swimsuit, which would look cool peeking out underneath the crochet of the cover-up. [My friend has this exact cover-up and loves it! It looks really good on too.] Metallic accessories keep it neutral but classic, and the floppy hat adds some extra glam.

I had to use this adorable flag bikini from a previous post - it is perfect for the fourth! This outfit is more casual and layers a chambray shirt over the swimsuit with denim shorts - what material is more American than denim? The pockets on the shorts have glittery stars sticking out the bottom (I couldn't resist) and I added some blue and white flip flops and red wayfarers to complete the look. Perfect for running around at a barbecue by the lake!

The red, sparkly nail polish inspired this whole outfit. It's like a firework on your nails! I matched the nail polish with a bright red tank and denim shorts and added classic accessories to not go overboard. I love the pearl and bow details on the flip flops and the leather band of the watch.

Let's celebrate the Fourth of July in style!

Dress: Swank Shoes: Dolce Vita Bag: Kate Spade Sunglasses: American Eagle Earrings: Stella and Dot Bracelets: Nordstrom

This weekend I am in Colorado for a family friend's wedding! This is what I wore to the bridal shower. Red and turquoise is a classic color combination so I thought it would be fitting for the outdoor party.

updates and nikes

1. I put a Bloglovn' button up! You can find it on the right-hand column. I've been a part of Bloglovin' for months now, but I never linked to it from here. Which doesn't make much sense. Haha. Soooo if you'd like to subscribe over at Bloglovin', click here!

2. I need help deciding which color Nikes I should get! I'm getting a pair of cross trainers for Zumba and other workouts (running shoes are so not good for my feet in Zumba). I need your help! My running shoes are hot pink, so I feel like the purple pair might be too much, but then again, I do love purple...right now my friends are saying purple. But also, the black and green are Zumba's main colors. Both are the same type of shoe and same price, on sale for $75 at Zappos. Hmmm....
So after I choose which pair, I should also go take a class on how to be less indecisive. "Decision-making 101." Yes. That would be nice.

3. Found these lovely Dolce Vita sandals at Nordstrom yesterday! I wasn't planning on buying sandals - I need a pair of wedges more than anything - but I really like these. The turquoise color looks beautiful with the gold accents. Originally $70, got them for $36! AND the "name" of the shoe is Archer. What a find. ;)
I can see these looking good with white denim and sundresses this summer!

4. I haven't been posting as regularly this month so far - I'm sowwyyy. I have a lot going on right now, plus, it is midterms week. Hopefully I'll be back to regular posting soon. Just as soon as I stop procrastinating this essay...

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!
