scallops!

Scalloped hems are another trend popping up this spring. I think scallops are girly and fun and am excited to possibly get something scalloped when I go shopping this season.

Here is an "outfit" I put together with a scalloped shirt I adore:

Here are some other great scalloped options!

I like the sleeves on this dress - perfect for the semi-warm-semi-chilly weather of spring!
This tank takes on a bohemian flair with intricate lace and subtle colors.
The red color of this shirt is simple yet makes a statement.
The black and white detailing on this dress have a unique, '60s modern feel.
This dress is also black and white, but the structure is totally different! I like how the scallops are layered and the dress is fitted.

turquoise hi-low shirt

Shirt: Free People Jeans: DL 1961 Flats, beaded bracelets (right wrist): Nordstrom Bracelets (left wrist): F21 Watch: Michael Kors

Today I am wearing a "hi-low shirt." The style is also known as the "mullet." Shirts, skirts, and dresses with a shorter cut in the front and a longer cut in the back are very trendy right now. I decided to subtly dip a toe into the trend with this shirt - which would be perfect with leggings as well. Here are a few dresses and skirts in the style:

I wonder how long this trend will last! I don't mind it for the season, as long as the mullet haircut doesn't come back in style...What do you think of the hi-low/mullet trend?

Prep Week

Coat: Gap Shirt: Nordstrom Skirt: F21 Leg warmers: Urban Outfitters Boots: Corso Como

Today marks the beginning of Prep Week at school. Since final assignments worth no more than 10 percent of our grade are allowed to be due during this week, all of the big papers and assignments were due last week. This week, well, a lot of big assignments are still due (many professors ignore this rule). This past week has been very busy, and I have hardly had any downtime! (As in, no blogging. Sorry for the delay of posts!) I thought today was going to be a pretty regular day until it got a lot busier than usual. That's okay, though. I like being busy.

I'll stop writing on and on about school. It's not very interesting, is it?

Well then, let's talk about my outfit. It's a little different today with over-the-knee leg warmers under a pair of riding boots. I paired my striped tee with this burgundy skirt and added a knitted headwrap (not pictured) and coat for extra warmth.

I'd say this definitely isn't my best photo, as I took it at night when the sun had gone down and didn't have the little bit of natural light from my window. I couldn't get the lighting right! All in all, I felt this outfit might be worth sharing.
